Flamebuoyant Productions offers activities and workshops on many types of skills for groups of 6 or more, no experience necessary!
Depending on your schedule, each workshop lasts 1-3 hours with up to 3 sessions available in a day.
We can teach workshops on:
- object manipulation and juggling
- stilt walking
- partner acrobatics
- tumbling
- aerial dance
- circus & theater games
…just to name a few!
Workshop fees vary depending on venue and enrollment.

Current Poi Workshops
Beginning Poi 1
A thorough introduction for the novice poi spinner, this course focuses on basic movements performed primarily on the sides of the body. Movements include: circles, crossing, moving with the poi, extensions, weave, turning, corkscrew.
Focus on Transitions
Designed to redefine your idea of what makes a transition, this course opens the doors to finding your flow. Movements include: the windmill, reels, turning and stalls.
Beginning Poi 2
This course focuses on the butterfly family, the patterns that move in the front and back of the body. Movements include: butterfly, over the head, wave, low wave, Spanish ladies, behind the back butterfly, turning.
Intermediate – Advanced
Many of the advanced moves challenge your thinking about how to spin a circle, or which side of your body your hand should be on. Movements include: movements behind the back, the wheel and variations, thread the needle, butterfly variations, under the leg, isolations, and the flavor of the day.
Weave Variations
This course is designed to help you find space in this staple movement to add extra circles, beats, extensions and turns. Movements include: extensions, the fountain, pull outs, under the leg, behind the back, 5 beat.
Performance Preparatory
This class is an introduction to choreography, character exploration, partner work and professional etiquette, culminating in a non-fire performance. This course is designed to take place over at least 8 consecutive weeks. While new movements may be taught in the course of learning choreography, this course is not designed to teach new movement.

Fire Safety Training
This class is a thorough introduction to the practical matters of dancing with fire. You will learn about equipment, fuels, regulations, procedure, costuming, fire safety, and participate in actual fire safety training.

No experience required. Have fun learning to hoop around the waist, hips, neck and hand. With the right hoop and a little practice, anyone can do it!

In this class, you will experience burning your fire equipment for the first time, or revisiting the skills you'll need to practice safely on your own. Equipment and fuel provided.

Fun for any age, and no experience required. Beginning with practice stilts just a few inches off the ground, we'll explore different ways of walking, falling and kicks.
